If you're reading this, you're probably not evaluating LaunchDarkly from scratch. You already run it and want to know whether a LaunchDarkly alternative would serve you better. This page is a checklist for evaluating any alternative, with rollfuse's own answers included. Facts about LaunchDarkly come from its public pricing page, checked on the date shown above.

What to check before you switch

Does the pricing model fit how your usage grows? LaunchDarkly's published plans bill on service connections and client-side MAU, with Enterprise custom-priced (official pricing page). Model your own expected usage on LaunchDarkly's current page and on any alternative's, rather than comparing sticker prices.

Is automatic rollback included, or an add-on? LaunchDarkly's pricing page lists automatic rollback under Guardian, a paid add-on on top of Enterprise, priced separately (official pricing page). If that's the capability you're after, check which plan includes it on each alternative you consider.

What does migration actually cost? Swapping SDKs, rewiring existing flag evaluations and retraining your team on a new console are real costs that don't show up in a pricing comparison. Weigh them against what you expect to gain. Our free LaunchDarkly migration checker reads a flags export and shows which constructs carry over.

Does the entry tier reflect real usage, or a trial? A free tier that caps out well below your actual traffic just delays the pricing conversation.

Where rollfuse fits

rollfuse's Starter and Growth plans charge a fixed monthly price per organization with a Monthly Tracked Users allowance included and metered overage above it, with no per-seat charge. Automatic rollback is available on every plan, within a per-plan guardrail limit (Free: 1, Starter: 5, Growth and Enterprise: unlimited). See our full LaunchDarkly comparison for the side-by-side detail.

If you need LaunchDarkly's SDK breadth or an integration it has that we don't, that's a legitimate reason a switch doesn't make sense yet.

Beyond pricing and guardrails, here's where rollfuse stands on the capabilities LaunchDarkly customers typically also need. Rule-based targeting, approval workflows and the audit log are on every plan. Segments are capped at 5 on Free and 10 on Starter, unlimited on Growth and Enterprise. Experiments are capped at 1 on Free and 3 on Starter, unlimited on Growth and Enterprise. Single sign-on and SCIM provisioning are on the Enterprise plan.
